About

I’m a bunch of things when it comes to life: a go-get-’em girl, an
artist, a thinker, a fan of bad 90’s music, a trend setter, Time Magazine’s Person of the Year (2006), but above all I’m a designer.
Inspiration comes to me through lots of things; pop culture, colours,
typefaces, science, history, all those crazy ideas that most people
don’t let past the “what if” phase. I thrive in collaborative, fast-paced work dynamics, but I also put on a pretty impressive
one-woman show. One of my strongest traits is creative “idea-ing” and conceptualizing. I love swinging the idea bat for the fences and
seeing where the ball lands. I have been working in eCommerce since 2012 in Seattle, WA and Irvine, CA. Needless to say I've seen lots of trends, ideas, implementation tactics, successes, and failures.

Being a student of innovation I love learning from the failures. After
having read through the description of this position I think that I
would satisfy the style of innovator that is required to make the larger team successful. Working as an eCommerce web design and development consultant I was paired
with national brands to over-come obstacles that they were facing in their respective eCommerce spaces as well as elevate their customer experiences to what was expected of them as a tier-1 retailer. I will admit, my research methods can be a little unconventional at times; riding the commuter bus from Seattle to Redmond and watching how
people used their devices as they passed the time gave me some super weird stare-downs. But hey, I was able to increase sales by 15% in 3 weeks for Bandai-Namco's by making their mobile site optimized for video content with a direct-to-buy action on video completion. Lately, I've been managing a full eCommerce team at Alcatel; we're 11 folks deep and we're constantly hungry to find the next best method to get our content out in an easy-to-digest way. My team goal for Q4-16 has been to instill a "yes, and...." dialog style for all of the concept meetings between the designers and developers. One person can't deliver the wham-bam best idea, but 6 minds building on a good foundation will! My Q4-16 goal for myself as a team-leader is to encourage the team to challenge me and say "I have a better idea". I want the team accomplish task the right way, and the right way may not be my way.
